Roy menikah dengan perempuan bernama Farida Sabtoijastuti dan bercerai setelah memiliki empat anak, yakni Monique, Aline, Galih dan Gading. Dia menikah lagi dengan seorang model bernama Anna Maria pada tahun 1985, dan memiliki dua naka, yakni Merari sabati dan Mahesa Gibran.
Salah satu anaknya yang juga mengikuti jejaknya masuk ke dunia hiburan, Gading Martin, kini rumah tangganya juga diambang perceraian. Sang menantu, penyanyi Gisella Anastasia menggugat cerai Gading di Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Jakarta Selatan. Berkas gugatan dengan nomor perkara 908/Pdt.G/2018/PN.JKT.SEL itu didaftarkan Gisel pada 19 November 2018.
Seperti dilansir tribunnews.com (21/11/18), Roy meminta media agar menanyakan kepada Gibran. Entah karena tidak menguasai masalahnya, atau memang masih syok, Roy seperti tidak mau terlalu ikut campur dengan keretakan rumah tangga anak dan menantunya.
